I am interested in acquiring stuff like this. I just don't know where to find them. Even within GM, different brands did things differently, so I am hoping someone here would know.

Take a look at this Olds bulletin. It was inserted in a dealer book (the ones that were part of the showroom display, rather than the paper brochures available to customers), although I suspect over time they've been thrown away or perhaps different dealerships dealt with them differently.

So is the pictured Buick item the same thing, for the most part? Where can I find these? Thanks!

I bought a set for '71 Buick from a member here. Three ring binder with Buick logo, about 3" thick. Very interesting reading at times. Much of it pertains to the large body cars as well.
i.e. Bulletin ## new fan issued with a slightly different shape for the alternators on Rivieras. Apparently the factory fan made a whining noise at certain rpm's.
Bulletin ## for vacuum tube routing on big cars with AC. Chassis manual had them colour coded wrong. Anything they tried to fix just got worse!!
    Many, many more.

But the ones you're talking about sound like the Technical Service Bulletins, right? That's not what I'm looking for. To contrast, I'm posting two links of what I'm not interested in.

    Here's one . . .

    Here's another!

Jason, that's what I'm looking for - where to find them? Is a "dealer planner book" the same thing as I've described? That'll probably end up costing me $150 or so, right?

Im not sure if they came in the planner book originally. They just happen to be in there when i won that planner on Ebay. Ive seen a page or two for sale, but a collection of them is rare.

Not a "Technical Service Bulletin" but a "Parts & Accessories Bulletin.
I have a few, maybe 12. One talks about correct way for dealer to install bodyside mouldings. Another explaining the power steering kit for a '70 does not carry over for a '71.
A "Product Campaign" on pink paper discusses that the bumper jack base on some early '71 Rivieras may not be correct as it doesn't match the post.

    Steve,

The Sloan Museum has some of the information you are looking for but not all of it. You can attempt to call them and ask them to look for the information but in general this information is so obscure they will have a very difficult time finding it. I was fortunate to run across a few pieces when I visited last year.

I have been looking for more complete sets for a long time. They do not come up on Ebay very often and I have never see a complete set. I am really looking for a zone or dealer that may have kept them. The Buick Heritage Alliance may have them at some point. These are much harder to find than the service bulletins. I am also looking for a Buick Salesman Guide book and have only found covers. I have never found the actual book.

It would be nice to create a braintrust of sorts so this info is accessible to everyone. I've started doing this, little by little, with some Olds stuff and wanted to do it for other brands that don't have much of this stuff online.

For the Buick information the Buick Heritage Alliance has that exact goal. The Buick Hertiage Alliance is attempting to collect information and become a depopsitory for Buick Information.

The two largest accessible sources of information I am aware of are the Sloan Museum and the AACA Library. The Kettering College library also have information but I have never been able to make it over there to check it out.

A couple places online you can acccess is the Altantic Buick Specialty, Buicks.net, and the 65 GS Registry.

There are several large private collections but these are not directly accessible to the general public.

One thing to keep in mind is that all the information we are talking about is Copyright material and the copyright is held by General Motors. I am not sure what the copyrights laws are so you may want to check into this before publishing any information on the internet for use.
