Wow, that's low! You need to be into the secondaries before it richens. If that's the case the AFB is the way to go.

Thanks for all the feedback on this topic. I just picked up the car with a new 2004R installed. Totally transformed this thing. A night/day improvement in the acceleration, and with the lock up converter the thing is like glass on the highway purring along. With the previous ST300 I could barely break the tires when it was wet. This thing chirps going into second. Totally different experience in this thing vs. the anemic set up before. At some point I will throw some shorter gears in the car and it will be a very fun cruiser. Thanks again everyone for the advice.....could not be happier with the results.

Excellent news! Glad to hear it all went well. So did you verify whether you have the 3.23 gears and posi yet????

I still have the 2.78's. I was going to have him change them out, but time/$ I decided to do this as a phase 2 once I understood what the 200R4 swap produced. I think some smaller gears would make this thing crazy fun. Never going to be a strip car, but definitely more fun around town, etc. The only complaint I have is the shifts into 1st and 2nd are a little hard, but tolerable.

The TV cable can be adjusted slightly to soften the shift, it only takes
a very tiny change in distance and you will be golden. I think I finally
got mine about right last year. Very firm when cold, just right when
    fully warmed up.
