    300 Parts sources

With a little investigation, you'll find that off-the-shelf parts are available to get you into the 14-15 second bracket. Not too bad for a daily driver or mild weekend warrior. Race quality parts are available from the specialty manufacturers. Some that I've used are listed below. Be sure to specify the year of your 300. Minor differences, like pushrod length and valve sizes, exist between the 1964 version and later versions.

I recommend checking this section of the site on a regular basis. It appears that the 300-340 owners are coming out of the closet. Valuable information on sources and owners experiences are coming to the surface. Even if you plan to go to a big block later on, the 300 is a good place to start understanding the quirks of Buick engine design and modification.

Use the "Search" function with "300" both on this site and the BCA (www.buickclub.org) site and you'll find many posts about the 300.
