I just got done re-rebuilding my carb. Experimenting wth jets and rods. So I go to Jerrys (our carhop joint) for a test ride. I leave and notice a Silver Porsche Boxter riding my A$$. Its time to turn on the highway. Is this dude wanting a race? I have no idea if Boxters are quick at this point. I ran mid-low fourteens last year and I'm hoping if we go that I can hold my own. I can't imagine a current Porsche, even a junior edition, being much slower than that. I should be pushing out way more torque than the Porsche, but I do know those suckers weight about a thousand pounds less than me at least. Soooooo......I make my left and it seems like he's not into it. I go to second semi-alertly. Then bam, he's on it hard. I stay second since going back to first would mean an almost instant shift back to second. I pull about two car lengths and hit third. Shorty afterward its obvious the Porsche has thrown in the towel. I notice about a half mile later he's coming up hard to trying to fit between the car I'm close to passing on the corner. I guess he was gonna show me how he can at least outhandle me. But wait, I just go from OD to third and close the gap fast. Luckily I had on my normal tires and I held the bend well. And that was that. Lotsa fun anyway. I admit the Porsche looks like it would be a hoot at the local roadcourse, but I'll stick with my Regal for $37.400 less!!!! :TU:
