Last night was not to bad it only got down to --21. The night before was -29 and that was with a 30 mph sustained wind with gusts up to 45-50 mph, and yes skin will freeze quick in that type of weather. I am really starting to miss Arizona.

Jim I know what you mean about the fuel Bill. We are using 12-15 gallons of fuel oil a day to heat the shop. Last week fuel per gallon was 1.33 today1.49 and due to go up quick. I won't even talk about the electric bill:jd:
To all the people in the cold, stay warm to all the people in the warm parts of the country enjoy it.

I intend to put the floor in my pole barn this spring with the heat tubes. My cousin did it with his and runs it off of a water heater and pump. I think he said the extra cost for heating the floor was $800-900. Not bad considering its a better heat, and that the mice can't run across the floor and into your car (too hot for them!!)

    Hey George,
At my railroad we let also let the engines idle in the winter (as does every railroad in colder climates). We seem to have to spot a fuel car every other day to keep our junk running. Our road power is always in use but our switchers and the power for the local jobs wind up sitting around. I wish the GP-9s that we have would freeze solid.

Where do I get the radiant heat tube setup for a garage floor? No one seems to know about it here? Any companies make complete kits?
If my garage had heat like that I'd be able to make much better use of the off season!!!
