Yep same symptoms on two of my cars, bad rear brake hoses. Made me chase my tail for a bit.

I have braided rear and front hose. I currently awaiting a replacement Booster right now. The only things I haven't replaced is the hoses and the cylinders. Getting frustrating.

The final answer... The Booster was bad. This was a new booster and after trouble shooting everything I ordered a replacement booster from Inline Tube.
Works great now. very frustrating, but glad I resolved the issue.

How did you diag the brake booster exactly? Process of elimination or get lucky? o_O

I my case I received a new Master and Booster due to very hard pedal. I replaced both and was the same. I checked the vacuum and that was good. I could shut off the car and let it sit for a few days and then unplug the check valve and there was still vacuum. I did the shut off the car and pump the brakes, then start the car and if the pedal goes down, then the booster is good. It worked a little bit. My gut said it was the booster, but it was new. I contacted InLine Tube and explained the situation. We talked it over and I just wanted to eliminate all possibilities first. I then replaced the bypass valve and it was still hard. Then replaced the distribution block and still hard. At this point we had eliminated the other options and InLine Tube agreed to send a replacement. All good now.
I just thought I would go ahead and replace the 2 valves, just due to their age I figured it would not hurt either.

Just an update to previous post. The brakes worked OK, but just did not "Bite" like I thought they should. The more I drove it, it just seemed a bit off and still a bit of a hard pedal. So I replaced the pads and shoes even though the looked almost new. They had been on for almost 20 years that I could tell. That was it! It seemed the material had just gotten "Hard" as described by an old mechanic I ran into.
So guys put that on in you file as a possible item.
