    Hey guys,
I know this page is calles V8 BUICK . com but Im sure you can help me with this.
My dad owns a 67 Corvette Coupe. The orig. 427/435 hp engine is getting a huge rebuild with gessler head /intake and exhaust manifold porting. Also the orig. muncie transmission will be rebuild.
But I dont wanted to pull the engine and transmission and leave the car that way. My dad wants to drive.
So I put in a 454 and a Borg Warner Super T10 for this summer.
The 454 runs good, not as strong as the 427 but the car moves :3gears:

But I have my problems with the Borg Warner.
It has a Hurst shifter on.
Sometimes you are not able to shift into reverse or 1st. But in every case its hard to get in one of those gears. 2nd and 3rd work fine.
But the 4th also makes troubles. From 10 shifts into 4th it punches out the gear 8 times. And sometimes when youre luck and you get into 4th it gets out of the gear after some miles driving in that gear. :Do No:

Does anyone know whats going on in that thing??

Going into reverse or first could be a synchro problem. As far as slipping out of gear that could be a worn shift fork not holding the trans in gear. They wear out after awhile and when someone drives with their hand resting on the shifter it can wear even more.

First thing you should do is confirm the shifter is properly "aligned." There is a method for this.

    How to check shifter alignment?
Can I downloead a manual for this, or can someone E-Mail me something?

Here are some basic instructions. For the locating gage just use a snug fitting allen wrench to line the gates up.
