Looking forward to seeing you guys again. And in case we missed some of you, please stop by my pro touring GSX and say hello Fernando
There will be 3 or 4 of us driving down from the Mount Dora area via the scenic route. Hwy 19 out out of Howie-In-The-Hills to Groveland then Hwy 33 south to Polk City and finally SR559 to Auburndale. We'll be meeting in Mount Dora on Hwy 441 and Sadler Road about 8:00 A.M. It's a nice relaxing ride with no tolls and very light traffic.
Sounds great Rich! Thank you for stepping up to the bat. I like the meeting place, Walmart parking lot, and I like the diner also. Hopefully we’ll get there late enough so that we all get to park under the giant oak trees again. I hope the oak trees are still there. You can Count on four adults and two kids from my party.
No problem bud, thanks for the feedback! Yeah, hopefully those trees are still there. Definitely makes hanging out at the show more comfortable.
That would be really cool if you can make it. Auburndale is about an hour or so east of Palm Harbor (just past Lakeland).
Oh yeah, six days to go and the weather is looking perfect. The weather report I see from the national weather service said highs near 80°! Sounds like perfect weather for a car show.
Phil, Initially I thought I had wiped a cam lobe. While driving down to this show last yr She started making a ticking noise which got louder as the trip went on. Also started pushing oil out every seal on the engine. I was disgusted with it and parked her for 6 months after getting home. When I decided to dig into it it was found the noise was a worn out valve guide on #1 Ex valve. Took my heads into a local shop where they still set. Tired of the delays and wanting to get the car ready for this yrs show, purchased a set of ported TA S1's from Thumper. That required me to change up the oiling from through the head to pushrod. Got it all together and fired it off. had 2 lifters that would not pump up. That lead to the replacement of the lifters. No reason to just do one or two. While Im in there , doing them all which is where were at in that picture. https://youtube.com/shorts/aROnQ9L5MJM?feature=share https://youtube.com/shorts/AX5KavwruJ8?feature=share After its all said and done Im not feeling all warm and fuzzy that she'll make the 500 mile round trip with no issues so I have decided to drive the 97 down this yr. Its not show quality by any means but it is comfortable, dependable and gets 28 MPG. Last yr the 68 took top honors in the class and her pic will be on the event T shirts. Give some other deserving Buick a chance to take home the big prize. Hopefully one of our guys!
wish me luck, I'm fixing to go get me some 110 gas to add to the tank. If you see me walking funny Saturday, you'll know why! Fernando
I feel your pain Steve. Took me months trying to figure out why my Stroker motor was breaking those stock rocker arms. Finally said "to hell with it" and replaced the rockers with TA rollers. Problem solved, finally. See everyone Saturday, God willing.
Doesn't look like I can make it. I'm only an hour and a half away, but something has come up. I'll be thinking of you all and will try next year. UticaGeoff
