OK, I fixed the link. I read an earlier thread that said this race was canceled. Is Jim running it or did Bristol just decide to keep it going?

Jim, is not involved this time. The track decided to try it by themselves......doesn't seem that they promoted it very well!!!

I'd love to go but Columbus NMCA finals are same weekend but ya never know with weather.

Planning on being in Columbus. Hope to see you both. Come by the NSS pits and say hi. I will have the red 67 GS "Mad Torquer". Love to meet and say hi. Was talking to my wife today as we were in Cookville Tn. , about the Bristol race but thought it was the same weekend as NMCA Finals.
    Travel safe;

Hope the weather is good and see ya there!

I've got a little beef with NMCA....they still owe me $700 bucks from the win at Cecil. Maybe you guys can help me get it outta them. Hey,they paid the second place guy!

Bet he wasn't driving a Buick! LOL. No I hope you get your money. I thought they were going to pay the first place people first and then on down if they had money. I will say something to Tony if you still don't get it at Columbus. Did they tell you it was $700? I thought they may have cut the purse. I haven't raced with them since Martin, started a new job and couldn't make the long trips. Will be in Columbus hoping to get my money on the cold check I got from Martin. I hate what has happened , but still have faith that Tony will make it right. Racing with Tony since 1999 has been great most of the time and I know he has worked hard to keep things afloat. It's not the same with other organizations, but will have to go where the money is next year. I really haven't had much of a year. Winning bracket 1 at Bowling Green GS Nationals was about the highlight of the year so far.
    See you.

Yeah, they said top down that's why I'm not too happy......

The original "rubberized" check was $700.

Yup, it's sad. It becomes a cycle: they don't have the money to advertize then the spectators don't show....that's where they get money, though the entry fees for the racers aren't exactly a bargain!
Tony said he had only $1500 in the account, so he couldn't pay. Yet.

I'm almost to the point of going to Bristol instead but I've done that so NMCA index racing is something different.

Lots of sandbagging! But I'll push em out with a good light.....hopefully.
    See you there....

You better be glad y'all didn't go to Bristol.

    It was boring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

40 to 50 cars total. Got in free on Sunday. They must have felt bad.

Allen Liverman was there with is 8.80 yellow t-type, lost second round in Q32 against a 13.40 car. I know that there was only about 11 cars in this class.

Dotson was there with his GN and I saw one 8 second run but heard he ran a 7(?)

One Olds powered rail that went 7.60 or maybe faster.

    Several 67 GTO's.

I won't be going back next year.

The Olds rail was Strange Magic Andy himself.
Did he look at the Buicks like they were out to get him?

In Bracket racing he had to leave last, so he did get to look at some Buick tail lights!
