I am looking for a 200/4R trans with the BOP bolt pattern to put in my 67 firebird. Either a good used one or a rebuildable core, will consider anything though. the car is a pro street and I drive it alot looking for better MPG.

    don't want 700R4

yeah, word is that all 200r4 transmissions are dual pattern, with both the Chevy and BOP bolt holes.

unless you're looking for one of the HD units out of a GN you could just go to your local junk yard.

I have a KCF code 200-4r from '86 or '87. I was keeping it for a spare case. Guy I bought it from said it was a good shifting transmission when pulled. I scavanged the TCC lockup & wiring from it. Not sure if it would be worth getting rid of it.......let me kick it around for a day or two.

Anyhow, you are in the area of 200-4r guru Vince Janis. I have not dealt with him personally but I hear good things.

Thanks for the comments on the car! sorry the post got off track you can thank Flynbuick for that I guess! Bruno, let me see what I can do about coming up with some cash. I have a 1966 L-79 chevy II motor, I am getting ready to sell. As soon as that goes I should be ready for the trans.

The stamp on the front of the block is F0209Zi cast B 1 6 casting number 3791362

I have a pretty good shortblock, block just hot tanked, preasure tested, new cam bearings, and brass freeze plugs, steel crank, forged TRW pistons
.030 over, rods have polished beams and the assembly is balanced. $1600

I have a set of 2.02 heads but they are not the same casting #'s one is a 462 casting that is correct for the motor and the other is a 461, they are a matched set as far as machine work, springs, valves etc and were both on this motor when I got it but one must have been replaced along the way.

    It is a correct L79 327/350HP for a 1966 chevy II
