M3's Nice to see an M3 being Driven Hard, most people I see with them Drive like old people, cause they usually are old ( and well off ) . I love just love the look of the M3 , very classy. I suppose BMW is going to F that up as well , like the 5 and 7. DId the dude driving the EVO look and sound like a total prat BTW. But based on his comments to the Driver of M3 , takes one to know one Cheers J
that evo owner is a retard. dosent even know how to launch. he kept bobbing his throttle up and down up and down. if he woulda just pinned it at 5k and dropped the clutch he would have been fine. he bogged the launch so hard, no wonder the M3 whooped up on him so hard. AWD cars are no match for RWD or FWD in the top end high speeds. their higher weight and gearing dont allow them much top end. that why you use your AWD traction advantage to jump out ahead of the opponent and give you a bit of a head start..cuz once it starts getting fast...the rwd/fwd will be reeling you in.
here's an idea, lemme get my buddy to film me tooling around in my new evo (which mommy and daddy probably bought me) and while we're cruzing why doen't he get a nice clear view of my face on film while I act like a jackass. Then let me challenge a car that is totally out of my league and further impress the world by showing, through my friends taping skills, how I can actually screwup launching a car with my less than average skills......
If you drive an Evo and can't keep up with an M3, you need to learn to drive. He was probably bobbing the throttle to keep near boost... works at 5k for STi's... works better at 7k for EVo's. Man, Im glad I got an STi. Might not be able to make it faster as easy as an Evo, but I didn't buy it to be faster - I bought it to have a low 13 second stock daily driver with a warranty.
How far away is Hudson Falls, NY from Long Island or NYC? The reason I ask is a buddy of mine is a Member of the SQC (Subaru Queens Crew) and works over at Metric Subaru. That club has some pretty hooked up cars that are ubelivebaly fast including his roundeye wrx that runs high 12's. The meet almost every week on Wed nights if you are interested (just e-mail me and I'll find out when and where the next meet is and hook ya up). Even if you can't make the meeting check them out here: http://www.sqc-ny.com/ They have a really good tech section here: http://www.sqc-ny.com/tech/tech.asp My buddy's deceptivly fast WRX(sorry no specs):
Im like 3.5 hours north of NYC. Near Lake George, NY. If I'm ever down in the city, I'll have to look you guys up.
That was a funny video! I wonder how many idiots like that I have raced and whooped on with similar/same reactions :-D All kinds of big talk and no game. I can't stand people like that, bunch of disrespectful posers! It's hard to launch a RWD turbo car well, but it can be done well with practice. I figured out my 180SX launched best if you hold the revs at ~3300-3500 rpm to get the turbo spooled up, and on the green light floor it and slightly slip the clutch to keep from roasting up....basically controlling the wheelspin with the clutch. I'd have eaten that EVO alive
i beat an 03' M3 6spd. once in my cobra, actually, a couple times, from a 1st gear roll, a 2nd gear roll, and two digs. Those things dont have any power till 4k on the tach.
