This oughta abe a fun one to find..

I need the drivers side front Female belt. Mine is DOA. It seems the little springy thing has gone bye bye, and doesn't like to stay latched much anymore. I'd like to get this remedied ASAP, as I don't want to go flying through the windshield in the event of a collision....considering the driving I do with this car.

Now, this is a BLUE Color coordinated Custom seat belt...different than the normal black belts with the large latches. I'll attach a picture in a few minutes when I get out to the garage.

didnt have a 74 vert one ...but the lesabre i drive daily the 1976 4 door post. the previous owner replaced the drivers side front buckle belt with a red at one time. the rest of the belts in the car are the original blue ones.
i have a master parts book, but trying to decipher belts/sizes/applications is almost impossible. and anyway a 74-76 front belt will not have the same part number even though it might be an excellent replacement just for the fact of the 74 and up cars having more seat and seatbelt sensors wired into the seat bottoms and belt buckles.
so if you are not looking for an "original" belt for your year. i can give up a blue one if you need it. if the ones i have are a usable length.
i have some green ones that i can swap back into my car.... i dont care what color i have in this particular car.
what length is your from bolt hole center to far buckle end?
here is a pic of the ones i have one the pass side ...one of them might be the same length.

I don't know what length it is, but it's loooong:grin:

I don't think those will work. I'll keep looking:)

I wonder if these things are repairable....

In the meanwhile, you might want to swap your driver's side for the passenger's side. Just don't mention it to your date... :Brow: :bglasses:

Ok I took care of the problem with the help of Steve Craig. He told me how to take these apart:beer

I installed a new little spring from my transmission shift kit where the old metal blade spring went, and it works like a charm! Not quite as stiff of a spring, but it keeps the latch tight.

    Thanks for the help guys..

    GStage1 Always looking for parts!

Use a small screwdriver to "pop" open the cover. Insert the screwdriver under the cover on the belt side(you will see where the cover wraps over the body) and gently pry up, toward the belt.
