Derek, From what I have been taught and for the people that know Shannon's automotive machine shop, they will atest that old man Shannon has a great deal of knowledge of cranks. No matter how big the crank journal is, if the balance is off just a few grams then it starts to wobble and thus causes the mains to move around. I'm not trying to cause a pissin match, just need all the facts to give a proper assessment and not a wild guess! Here is another bad thing some machine shops do, they balance the crank before being ground or indexed! That alone is not a good step to have
