    Hi there.

If anyone is interested in a billet 350 crankshaft please reply on here. I had mine made by King a few years ago however they went out of business. I am willing to have my crank digitized to help in the R&D process as that is costly and time consuming. I don’t have any information or details yet as we are still trying to find a crank company who is willing to take on the job. Best case scenario would be about $2500 for a crank, worst case would be about $4000.

I'm afraid it's going to be beyond my resources as much as I'd like to go the billet route. Was hoping they'd be less even making 5 pc. but if my finances change I'd be interested.

Ran across this as a possible option for one or a small run.

Why not sell it so someone can put it to good use you had that thing for 15 years now. See what happens when parts are not used in time, the company goes out of business.

In 2014 I worked with Gary Paine to allow the custom block girdle to be made. Getting the first girdled 350 since Sonny Seal I decided to go the extra mile with a billet crank. In late 2014 I started the custom crank R&D process with King and by 2016 I had the finished product. Having Gary work with a top end shop the short block was completed and shipped out to my head porting guy.

Once we finally got the alum heads the R&D began on those. The head porting is going well, far surpassing what TA has been able to produce. My head guy has had medical issues, and I’m not barking down this throat when he has other customers that are waiting for thier engines. He is a close friend and I’m not letting his delays come between us.

Plus I’ve been busy with my own stuff, building our dream house, running my business, fixing up daily drivers etc..When I took the engine out of the car I said I wasn’t putting it back together until the good engine is ready.

You haven’t bought the crank, girdle, alum heads etc so why are you complaining about my timeline?

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I have heard it all before, you are the one that is supposed to put these parts on and test them for the rest of us, that is why you bought all this right? :p:rolleyes:
but to each his own I don't care what you do, just out rambling around for me nothing else to do lol. :)
even my poor a$$ got it all done in 6 years, suspension, interior, paint, motor, all while paying child support on my crappy printing wage.
time to bring it all out in 2023, I even have a solid lifter cam to start the year with, will it go or will it blow.
    ;):D
Don't get me wrong here what you're wanting to do is a great idea, but man, waiting forever to get something going is getting old here, good buddy.
I thought we would have gotten a 10.50 350:eek: with a turbo and less than a 373 gear by now, but I see that door starting to slam shut fast.

Talked to Callies already month ago and they just said they were not taking in any custom builds at the moment.
Talked to Moldex as well, nothing in return

--I'm absolutely in for one . I cant get over budgeted myself but Id like to see this happen. My project really needs this .I'll wait for something but not looking to wait years either. Also Not throwing money at this and blowing it cause of a cheap crank.. I need to do it right. We'll figure something out, I know making it can take some time.

Maybe get a price from the place that said 5 pc. min. & then what the terms would be for a deposit, lead times, etc. I'd love to see your build happen!

I'll start a thread on it when I have all the parts I need. Everything is still in the searching for parts stage lol.

What are the specs of your billet crank, and I assume they all need to be made identical?
How you talked with Velasco or Bryant? I’ve had other custom cranks made by them. No,not cheap, but gave them specs and they made them.

My specs are on exactly the same as stock. Stock stroke, stock pin diameters in mains and rods. I gave them a stock crank and then they did thier thing to create my crank. The idea was that they could then do any stroke or rod pin diameter easily for anyone in the future. But they went out of business and by the time we found out it was too late to try to obtain the digital files for the project.

I don’t think that they would have to be identical, as it’s easy to change a spec with billet.

Yes Brian is currently trying all the vendors.

Main change would be internal balance with the mid counterweight added and also different rod journal sizes for stroked combos.
Nice smooth counterweight edges would top them off....

Mine is nice and smooth, internal balance but no Center counterweight added. They cryogenically treated it twice and nitrated it as well.

Keep the counterweight to slightly smaller than stock as the big roller cam lobes can hit the o.d. otherwise.... I had one stock crank that hit lobe heavily. Ground off abt .035 to clear.

Yes I did ask them to make the counterweights slightly smaller for clearance.

I'm definitely going to be using a Roller cam and the engine will be internally balanced . Its something that will be checked forsure

I’ve also done an internal balance on a stock crank btw...

One good thing about a billet crank would be allowing a smaller rod big end diameter while staying strong. Going small journal on a stock crank would be questionable for strength over 600 HP I would think.
