15X8 rims. What is the biggest tire that can be run, that will match front and back, and have no rubbing or interferance at all?

if u migrate to bf goodrich tire site , u can find
the maximum tire size that u can safely install on your 8" rim . a set of 275r60 or 285r60 bfg radial t/a would certainly do the job .
i had a set of bfg 275r50 on 15x7 pontiac firebird snowflake rims on my 72 gs before i
    restored the original 14" & re-installed .

So 275/60's will fit a 15x8 rim... but what about the car? 275/50s are gonna be a little shorter than the 60's... how tight of a fit was it? I've got 1 in. drop coils all around to... I don't was any intereference at all...

I have 255/60-15's (15x7 wheels) front & rear on my GS. The rears never rub but the fronts will rub alittle at full lock, especially if the suspension is compressed. So, if I hear them rubbing, I just back off on the steering alittle. Besides, how often do you drive with the steering at full lock? Now your 15x8's may rub even more with the same size tires, especially if the extra width is to the inside.

i agree with mike on the rim size and tire size.
car should handle super if your suspension is up to snuff. i did not experience an tire rub on locked turns . would i personally put 275r50 tires on a 7" rim ? never . they were on my car when i bought it . sold those tires & rims .

personally i think i'm going to install 275 or 265 in the back, and 225 or so in the front. makes sure there are no clearance issues, and looks cool too.:TU:

    UPDATE-
Okay, so I went to the tire shop, told them, put the biggest tires you can on theese rims, on that car. I told em I have one inch drop coils. He said he may be able to fit 255/60's, but it may be tight and he recommended 245's. So I went with thoose. I think my body is slightly shifted on the frame a bit, cause the left side has more clearance than the right. The rear right wheel well lip will hit the tire on quick turns, the lip is very big, so modififying that is no problem. the front right tire would hit the fender bolt right above the tire, so I took it out, and no prob there. The last issue is the front (both sides), the front part of the fender well will hit the tires on half turns. A little hammer work should take care of that.
the rims are 15x8, backspacing is what ever American Racing gave me...

which wheels did you go with? as i said in my post (the one with no replies:pp) i'm going to use 15x8 AR outlaw II's. you're saying you went with 245/60's all around on 15x8's?

i'm thinking now that i'm gonna go with 275/60's and 245/60's, maybe 10mm smaller on each depending on clearance. only thing i'm not sure of is if i'll run 15x8's or 15x7's in the front...

    got any pics, btw?

edit: oh, and your wheels probably have 3.75" backspacing, like most AR 15x8's.
