A after market block is great! Eather alum or iron. How about a afordable Steel crank. I would like to go above my 494 moter now.something 600+ cid would be nice. ? FOR you experts. If we would sleve a iron stock manifacture 455. What would be the biggest bore size you could go? ON top of that what would be the biggest stroke we could weld on a steel crank? What could we fit using a Titanium Rod? Would like to go supercharged and looking for 2000+ hp. Has any body stroked a BB Buick more than mike T. 533cid ?

The biggest stock Block Buick I have built was a 540 incher, it used a 4.5 inch stroke and a .060 overbore.

The only way to get what you want will be with the new block, with a 4.5 inch bore and a 4.5 inch stroke, you will have 573 ci,, with a 4.6 bore , you will have a 598.

There are no amount of bandaids in the world that will hold the stock block together to even attempt a 2000 horsepower level.
If this is whatyou are wanting, just give us a call and we will get you set-up with what will be required to shoot for that power level, the foudation will be the new PAE block.

Even if you could sleeve the stock block with a larger sleve, which you can't , you will have a very expensive bomb on your hands as this thing will just be a disaster waiting to happen.

Just for the heck of it one day, if you have a block assy on the stand, pry against one of the 3 center main caps and watch how much movement there is, then pay attention as to where the movement is coming from, you can actually visually see the main web on either side of the cap bending back and forth.
