After 30 years of owning/building Chevys, these Buicks are quite a challenge (but I'm enjoying it). I'm currently rebuilding a 455 with a short shaft Turbo 400 which I plan on dropping in my 65 Lark this winter. The entire front clip will be off the car so the swap should go pretty smooth. I'm replacing the springs and installing new frame mounts. My question is, what headers would I need for this swap. This car never came with a later big block so I'm concerned about clearances. The engine will be a mild redo so maybe the stock manifolds will be good enough. Any thoughts or experiences with a similar swap?
If your going to run a stock or stage one head, you'll be O.K. TA sells headers that fit pretty good. If it's Stg. 2, 3, or 4, get ready to spend the money to have it done right. I just spent $1150 for a beautiful set of custom slip fit step headers from Lemons Headers in Norther California. Gary G
