i got a question about bfg drag radials, i was planning on getting a set, but a friend told me that they dry out if you do a lot of street driving and i drive my gs as much as possible. is this true?

I've had a set for going on two years now. I didn't have a bit of trouble with them. They were the 275/60 size. I'm actually going to try and put a set of 325/50 out back next weekend. I like them. They hooked good at the track as long as you take the pressure down to about 15 lbs. or so. I had them at 30 for driving around. Did about 5000 miles last summer.

Another option is the M&H Muscle Car Drag tires. Jegs just started selling them. They have lots of tire sizes that fill in the gaps found in the other brands.

    Here's the link to them:

    Good luck.

I would not use them on the street if I were you. They are great at the track and hook up wonderfull. The first real burnout you do on the street and then go for a cruise, they will fill up with small rocks and anything else you drive over and then splatter your car with the junk on your next burnout. Track use:TU: But for cruising:moonu: no way!!!!!

It's good to see M&H back making the Racemasters DOT's again! I loved the old G60-15's I ran on my Buick. You wouldn't want to run them on the street though. Although that site doesn't say, they appear to be a bias ply (does say wrinkle-wall). I drove mine a couple of times home and they really shouldn't spend much time on the street, especially mixing with radials up front.

You may want to check into the Nitto's too. A friend has had good durability with them on his mid 12 second 96 vette. Something like 5000 miles and 500 passes on the first set.

These guys are right. If you do a burnout on the street, they get very sticky and you'll pick up every pebble you run over. But as long as you keep things subtle, they're fine.

Your right Phil, I ruined mine( 275/60 bfg drag radials) when I was testing out my line lock in front of my house:Brow: The wife still is not fully recovered from that one:Dou: But the neighbors loved it:beer Tires have been junk ever since, filled with small rocks:af:
