Ok here goes i am looking for some info on a 70s ish chevy 427 tall block ,info is sketchy on the 366 , 427 tall deck family . Have tried other sites but again info is iffy . We want to convert the 427 over to big style hei . This motor is coming out of a grain truck. Is there a way to use the hei out of mid 70 s 350 ? change the bottom gear or some thing ? will a hei out of 454 work , these motors are way different so any help would be nice , this is going to be going into a ski boat, the boy already has ordered alum. heads & intake so i guess we make it work. Well for awuile we were all hyper to get at this 427 truck motor the nephew had ordered alum. heads ,intake , cam etc , the plan was to build amotor 4 his jet boat but after we miked the bores turns out it was a 366 . Oh well back on the search trail again . Hope we can find one should make 4 some interesting fishing . later bake.
