I an looking for #32 dark gold carpet for my 69 GS. Rock Auto appears to have the best price(120.00) plus shipping. but you can only order Black in 80/20 loop. 1AAuto has colors, but I am not able to figure out how to order correct on line, will need to call. They seem to be the best price(about $160.00) with free shipping. From what I have read on here you need to order regular 2 door carpet for a hardtop with buckets and console. ACC appears to offer carpet with jute backing and for additional cost with Mass back for additional moldability sound deadening and insulation. I am planning to put the original sound deadening under the carpet. Anyone used this? 1. Is the 2 door carpet correct for hardtop with buckets and console? 2. Should I order regular with jute padding or other with Mass Back? thanks in advance, Bill.
Bill, try this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/1969-Buick-...Parts_Accessories&hash=item19ea458032&vxp=mtr Dan
Bill, Having put in many, many sets of ACC carpet, I had really developed a strong dislike for the job.. their carpet simply is not molded right over the trans hump, and is hard to work with. I used to set aside about 5 hours to really do the install job right. Last summer, a customer brought in a set of carpet he got thru Legendary.. From Trim Parts.. I assumed that it was just re-packaged ACC carpet, but boy was I wrong. It was 80-20 loop, molded correctly, and very easy to work with. I had the carpet in and looking great in a fraction of the time it took to work with the ACC stuff. I won't use anything else but this Trim Parts stuff from now on, even though I have to order this stuff in, and can pick up ACC locally. It's well worth the effort. You might want to call and see if they have the color your after. http://www.trimparts.com/main/ JW
Jim Please excuse me invaiding this original post. Is it true for 4 speed cars to order rugs as an automatic for best fit around the non console 4 speed boot trim? George
For an earlier posting on the carpet for a four speed car see - http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?64734-ACC-Carpet-for-Manual-Shift-Cars
Should you decide to stick with ACC and want the Rockauto price, sent Rockauto an email with the particulars off the ACC site. I've done this before successfully. Absolutely an auto shift carpet for a 4-speed car.
Jim- ( or anyone) I ordered the Trim Parts carpet and have installed the rear part with not too much difficulty. The front however I can't seem to get it to fit. It doesn't seem to be molded right for the hump no matter what I do it's wrinkly and it just doesn't fit right. What am I doing wrong?
Hi Jim Im about to order carpet from Trim Parts Ive read all about the ACC carpet that the Auto carpet fits the 4speed cars best Have you had the same experience with carpet from Trim Parts specifically?
