Friday was a good day. I saw my first 2005 Mustang (want one), saw an old Model A - type car on a trailer (complete and relatively rust free) and let a kid in his Mazda 3 down. Now I don't know what the Mazda 3 is capable of, but I was curious to find out. I was on a service call in Baton Rouge and was leaving a client to trek to Hammond. I pulled out of the business and was acceletating slowly down the three-lane road (I'm in no hurry) when I hear tire squeals pass my passenger side and move behind me. In my rear-view mirror I saw a red car jump in my lane sideways (out from a side-street - he almost lost it making the manuever) and jump on my bee-hind. He switches lanes hard and I hear he is gunning it to go around me. I was in such a good mood on Friday I though "Why not?" Now, I was doing 30 mph which is the absolute sweet spot where the tranny drops to 1st and moves! :grin: I hit the pedal and in almost no time matched him and absolutely left him. At the stoplight he wouldn;t even look over. I just laughed and could only image what this kid was thinking... that he got dissed by a big, wrecked, bent, dusty, open-exhaust, bondo-filled hooptie like nobody's business.
