Ballast Resistor

    Ok, now here's a question.. I never even thought of it.

    My car has the original Delco-Remy Coil, and a remanufactured distributor. Did Buick use a ballast resistor, resistance wire, or does the coil have the ballast built-in?

    BTW: What made me ask, was I'm seriously considering electronic ignition, and I'm thinking about replacing the coil.

    Buick used a ballast wire from the distrubition block to the coil. When you switch to an HEI unit, you will have to replace to whole wire (avalible from year one) to get 12 volts to the distrubitor.
