    Hello,
I have a 72 Buick Skylark that I just installed a bolt in Ford 9" Moser housing, which I am using my original backing plates. I need to know what backspacing on a 15 x 10-inch rim is recommended. I wanted to run a 28 x 12.5 ET Street tire with the 10-inch rim. I have checked myself and got a measurement of a 5-inch backspacing, but I wanted to get a second opinion before I bought my wheels and tires. I am in a time crunch so any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Blair

5" will work with that tire size.
Depending on what wheel you buy,I don't know that you'll find a 5" backspace on a WELD wheel. You might find it on a CENTERLINE.

I had a 15x10 WELD wheel w/the 13.5x28 ET STREETS on my 70 and there was no problem other than some harmless, barely noticable contact w/ the tailpipes at the back of the tire.
    This was with a 5 1/2" BS.

I've been going through this also for about 4 months. From all of my measuring with different tire/rim combos and talking with others, 5" is about as big as a backspace as a stock 70-72 Skylark will take when you have a tire with a 10"-10.5" tread and a section width of no more than 13".

I've talked with another on this website and he has a 325/50R15 in there. It is supposed to by a tight fit, but no trimming of the fender lip was necessary. This is what I think I'm going to go for with a 15x10 Wheel Vintiques Buick rallye with 5-1/4" backspacing. This way I can shim it to exact fit. You can get shims from 3/16" to 7/16" to get it perfect from Summit Racing. They're about $12 a set.

That ET Street you listed should work great with the 5" backspacing.

    Good Luck.

I run a 10" Weld wheel on the back with a 5.5" BS. When I had a 28x10.5 M/T Drag ET's they fit great. Of coarse, the 29.5" are a bit tight when you try to get the rear end down low.

I have a 1972 buick Skylark and I have a set of 15x10's on the
back with 6" backspacing. I am also running a 285/60x15
Mc Creary tire. the only problem I had is that it rubbed a
little on the inner wheel well and move the rear shock mount
hole up 1". I had also lowered the car about 4" in the rear.
    I hope this will help.
