I just bought a B4B and need some input as to where you have mounted/connected your fittings on the intake. IE: Heater hoses, sensors, etc. Does anyone have any pics of their setup so I can figure out plumbing routes? Thanks!!
Also am curious to know if you can use the valley pan gasket with this intake. Or is there a specific gasket I need to use? I called Dave @ TA and ordered a choke assembly and PCV grommet this morning! Getting closer to install:Brow:
Yes you can use the valley pan gasket, but you also could get composite gaskets from TA or Fel Pro performance gaskets. I would use the back for the heater hose, the drivers front for the coolant senser. I try and post you a pick of my set up tomorow.
Make sure you install a valley pan of some kind otherwise the PCV will suck oil directly from the lifter valley! Not good! Jim W. sells one, and so does AMP, and also Jim Burek (I think). Or you can trim an old one per T/A's instructions. I have done this before and it isn't too bad. Brian
Hey Adam, Jim still has it but it might be assembled within a week or so. Ran into some delays but Jim definitely took care of me! He's the man! I will post the dyno results when it is done. It will be a really nice motor. :Brow: Brian
I always torqued mine @ 55 ft lbs. Seems like alot to me but I had been told before to use that on aluminum intakes also. I would be curious to know if that is correct. Brian
55 is for iron intakes. Edelbrock instructions indicated 25-35 or so if I can remember. Use of a washer also is a good idea. Bruce
If you have some good size washers it should be OK but I wouldn't exceed 40 with an aluminun intake. Bruce
