Does anybody know of a source for leather backed axle straps? I have had a set for about 15 yrs and they are showing their age, would like to replace them. Don't trust regular straps without backing due to sharp edges on lower control arms.
    Thanks,
    Keith

    Dormant

    Reynold,
Thanks for the link, I have seen the protective sleeve type, I may have to resort to those. Just hoping that someone still uses leather. Yes, the car has been idle for awhile(other than around the neighborhood). Working on the exhaust system this weekend to quiet her down a bit.

There's a place in Arabi, La. called Arabi Rigging Co. that makes nylon straps for any application. They specialize in lifting straps for industrial use on the Miss. river, but I know that they can make anything. There's another place in Reserve, La. on Airline Hwy. called Paducah Rigging. I THINK they do the same thing.

If possible, let me know the next time you go to the track. It's been about 10+ years since I saw your car run. That's the car that got me into Buicks, so it's all your fault!!!

Dont get to excited about buying those I should have my deal soon and will have about $3000 worth of straps and loops to sell. I have to buy my way into a company so they can make my TORQUE STRAPS

Mike, are you looking into the "leather backed" axle straps?

The book I have does not show that as an option. The average price on straps that are decent to hold a car would double with leather HOWEVER I have an interior shop that I was talking to about makeing the sleeves I will ask him about leather when I see him next week
