Auto to manual in 69 skylark

Discussion in 'Classic Buicks' started by Zachariah J Stewart, Mar 22, 2023.

  1. Hello all I'm looking for dimensions for placement of the consolette and wondering if they make a bracket to weld in place for mounting the consolette or if i have to fabricate one. If anyone has pics of there conversion from auto to manual that would help tremendously could also use placement of the shorty console

Are you talking about this console?

If so, there are no brackets. It bolts directly to the tunnel

If you have specific questions, post them up. There are alot of 4 speed guys on here. I personally have done a conversion so I know all the issues associated with converting

There are "dimples" in the tunnel metal where the screws go.

I am putting a manual in my '68.

I'll go take pics as I have the carpet up and am fit checking everything.

Pretty sure the 68 and 69 are the same, but if anyone knows different, chime in.

    :)

It's the same consolette from 65 to 72.

They're readily available. I'm sure @LARRY70GS has a link to where you can find one

Here are the images and a detail on the location of the dimples.

I did not pull up the sound mat as it is fragile and started breaking up.

So, I took pics from the bottom and measured from the front lip on the front arch, and the back lip of the rear arch.

If you need any more pics or measurements, let me know.
