    GSXMEN Got Jesus?

    I have a 1981 KZ1000 that isn't finished yet.

The engine has been done for awhile....need to clean up the frame this winter and get it painted sometime before the good weather finally gets here (April or so).

Anyways...I'd like to change a few things (won't happen any time too soon). Not real thrilled with the original 'sissy bar' or the luggage rack on the back. I also need to move my rear turn signals back, to make room for some black leather saddle bags.

My bike is setup now, to run the Windjammer fairing w/lower leg extensions. Great when you're riding in cooler weather....but I'd really like to pickup a stock headlight bucket w/brackets so I can take the fairing off during the summer.

Anyone know of any places that still cater to the older KZ's?? What is available perf. parts wise too...external stuff, like coils, pipes, mufflers, etc.??

    Thanks.:TU:

Accel makes coils, though the stock Kaw ignition is supposed to be pretty good. Header likely from Kerker if they are still around, Vance&Hines, or a cheap one from MAC . Lots of stuff on ebay and such as the old KZ engine was kinda the SB Chevy of drag-bike engines. A set of GPz cams I think will fit, or some aftermarkets from megacycle will make a good improvement.

How 'bout punching 'er out to 1428 with a Vortech head, a set of Lectrons, or a turbo kit from Mr Turbo? (just kidding)

    Hey Scott,
Drop me an email with what you need. I may have some stuff kicking around.

I bought a used 1973 Kawasaki 900Z1 in 1977 when i was 15 years old, stepped up from a 1975 Yamaha RD350. I remember opening the throttle wide open in first and just letting off to get used to the power.

it was stolen in 1980 at the Car Craft Street Machine Nats.

The only bike to ever beat it was a Honds CBX 6 cylinder.
