Thank all of you that have prayed for my mom.

She fought the good fight and won the battle to stay alive but on Wednesday 01-23-2019 3:35 PM Laura lost the war and passed away.:( Her wishes were to be resuscitated if anything went wrong with her, so I gave them the order to do so to give her a chance to recover from what happened, her body had different plans though. She wasn't a candidate for conventional dialysis either because her heart was to weak, her blood pressure would drop to fast so she couldn't get rid of the accumulated fluid in her body.

Her kidneys never turned back on and her lung function wasn't good enough to sustain herself without the breathing tube and her heart was to weak, so we all decided to gather all her family that could make it around her to say all of our goodbyes on Wednesday. Leaving her on the machines wasn't prolonging her life, they were prolonging her death so the plan was to remove the tube @ 12:30 pm but it didn't happen until around 1:15.

I was hoping she would be strong enough to speak to us one last time but she was to weak. She did look aware though when everyone was saying there goodbyes. They gave her a very low dose of morphine about an hour after the tube removal because its supposed to help calm her down and make it not feel like she was drowning to "keep her comfortable" they said.

Her heart rate and breathing held steady for about 2 hours, enough time for everyone to talk to her for the last time. About 3:25 her heart rate slowed down to half of what it had been a few minutes earlier and her breathing slowed and stopped first. The monitor was picking up a slow heartbeat for about 5 more minutes after she stopped breathing but the nurse couldn't hear anything. Finally the monitor went to zero, she went peacefully, it was like she fell asleep for the last time when she passed.

It was a sad day for me and I am still having a hard time with it(why it took me so long to write this), had to stop writing a few times because my allergies started acting up.:(

Thank you all for the support, I truly appreciate everyone of you for your kind words and prayers.

Derek at least you were there and that means a lot. You don't have the regret of not being there. In time you will find comfort knowing that.
Your mom lost the fight to the undefeated foe. A foe we will all face.
Also find comfort knowing that she is no longer suffering or in pain.

Praying for peace for you and your family.
    God Bless
