ok here goes i have a 49 harry fuerguson tractor with a 4 cly. continential engine. This engine has the oil filter in the oil pannot on the outside like the standard engine this is the main defference between the two engines.theconty engine comes with lucas ignition & my distributor is toastthe bushings are all gone and its not working properly at all .I realize this is not really the p,laceto as about such things but i have tried about all the places i can think of and have struck out.I was wondering if any of our older retired farmers had ever had to sub. a distriutor out of an older car or whatever . Anyway if you guys wish to tank the thread i understand. The onlyreason is i haven,t been let downhere before thanks bake

Have you tried contacting Continental directly to see if they still have parts available? I'd start there.

I recently sold a 1950 TO-30 Freguson tractor. My filter was in a canister on the outside left front of the engine. Never had any problems with the dist. I do know that there is a ton of parts available on Ebay for these tractors and some I ordered from a Massy ferguson dealer. Keep searching.
