I have a 2 -1970 Wildcats and both only came with driver side mirrors. Does anyone know if there was an option for a passenger mirror for this year and if so does anyone have the part numbers or a spare mirror to sell?

They made a passenger side mirror as a dealer add on option only in 1970, if I'm not mistaken. Correct ones for your car would have the tri-shield emblem on the back. If these are like the 68/69 version, it would only be available as a non-remote.These are very rare and NOS units crop up for sale from time to time-however they are very pricey$$$$.

I know for the '63 Cats the passenger side mirror was an accessory item. I purchased mine on ebay. There were several up for auction at one time and I picked it up for around $60. The parts that take a little digging for is the mounting hardware. The mirror has the tri-sheild emblem on the back.

The only correct option is the 'chicken lips' non-remote trishield mirror, which I've seen go on eBay for $800 or more.

I found a similar mirror years back that didn't have the trishield on it for about $50, then installed that on my Deuce. I had no idea at the time that it wasn't the correct one, and for now, I'll leave it be.

Good luck in your search for one. RH mirrors seem to be geting scarce.

If you're not going for the restored look you could throw the sport mirrors on your car. They're way more plentiful than the original style, and they look pretty good.:TU:

For what it's worth, I bought a tri shield mirror from Cars, Inc for $95 because the owner of the car before me had a cheap mirror put on that had rusted. The mirror came with the mounting hardware, and really looked good. The only problem was that the drivers side mirror is a remote unit and they look nothing alike, and the necks on the units point in different directions. I put it on anyways and it looks fine. Someone who has a Wildcat has a link that shows dealer installed accessories, and both of the mirrors are shown in the book, and it appears that the necks do point in different directions. Even though I was just a kid in 1963, I don't remember too many people having passenger side mirrors.

i have a 69 wildcat with a remote passenger mirror, was this original, dealer add, or a new addition?

it doesnt match the other mirror and it bothers me, i was thinking of trying to find a matching mirror for that side, or opt out for sport mirrors (they dont look bad)

    any ideas?

    thanks

If yours is a remote, then it definately is an aftermarket unit. The dealer add on passenger mirror is the same for all series Buicks for both 68 and 69 and is a non remote style. Like the '70 version, it is very hard to come by and very expensive when you do find one.:Comp:

I remember CARS having a RH '60's mirror years ago...they repop'ed them and were listed in the catalog. I was almost going to buy it for my '70, but found out about the scarsity of the 70 trishield mirrors.

I just checked out their site, and they list one for the 64-67's. I'm not sure if you'd be willing to settle for that. They don't have a pic for for it, so that raises more questions.

mine dont match, and the passenger side is very close to the window. (makes a nice vacuum noise when driving also)

But i would like to know how they looked before i bought them.

I think ill just stick with it for now.

  13. Are there and LHsideview mirror mounting kits?

i can't find the LH sideview mirror mounting kit. i'm not able to mount original sideview mirror to the left fender. might have to opt for 70's sport mirrors until i luck up on that mounting kit.

A $1000.00 bounty will likely resurrect a NOS passenger side.

It doesn't go on the fender it goes on the door! And you will have the same problem with sport mirror mounting kit.
