How hard would it be to go into a 5 speed gear box of 80s on to the back of a 455?

want to convert APOLLO, from auto to shift what will need to be done? will a modern 5 speed fit. ? camaro firebird etc. ? bell fit plate? have a clutch plate fork and clutch pressure plate , and a buick bop bell housing/

can a newer 5 speed be put on this bell housing?

shift pedal,, Apollo anyone convert a ch## nova, or other X car, to manual??

any info is welcome. 455 blew out my clutches in rebuilt 350th. should maybe go to a 375 or 400 short, to fit car with shift kit , but would like manual

A 5-speed gear box of the 80's is fairly simple to bolt up, it's also fairly simple to shatter one with a 455.

I personally used a TKO-600 rated for 600ft/lbs of torque. The typical 80's 5-speeds were rated in the neighborhood of 300-350ft/lbs.
