I've read through the thread TimR started and am wondering if anyone has a recommendation for repop mounts they feel are worthy. I've missed out on the NOS ones that some guys grabbed, so I'm stuck with repop (unless someone wants to sell some NOS pieces).

What are the rest of you guts using that you're happy with?????

    Thanks

Ken, I get all of mine through Ground up restorations and they have been great. the price is the cheapest around. I believe I paid 99 bucks for the bushings and the bolts last time I bought them. I believe it even came with the radiator support mounts. They are in CT now. Their website is www.ss396.com

just an fyi if you don't already know, the body bolts get torqued to 45 ft pounds. I put loctite on them so they don't loosen up. There are 2 round holes about 1/2 inch in diameter. They line up with corresponding holes on the undersides of the crossmembers on the body. the holes are located on the rear crossmember on the left side of the frame and body and just behind the front pair of body mount holes on the drivers side of the car. the holes in the frame look like this -O- . Another good idea is to maybe clearcoat the bolts and washers before you put them together so they don't rust. They are all plated, but a little extra rust protection goes a long way. After a few years, the rust starts to creep through if the car sees any type of water, or dampness.

    Bob-

That is a very cool site! I was excited to see all the parts that would interchange to our Buicks. Looking at the repopped Chevelle grill pricing made me :ball: .

I'll probably whittle this wish list down, but do all the parts interchange to our Buicks???

Ken, yes all those parts will fit on your Buick. I always ask for chevelle parts when i go to the auto parts stores.. its just easier.

The boxed lower control arms are kinda pricey. I welded in a set of inserts on my original arms. I got the steel inserts from Original Parts Group for about 20 bucks. They look factory too!

Actually there are three guide pin locations. The front and back one you got, the third is just forward of where the lower control arm bolts into the frame on the LH side as well.. I would imagine they also serve as damage tolerance control since using the front and back set must line up the middle one (you would think, anyway).
