Hi folks, Just wondering if anyone sells new rear aluminum brake drums for my '70 Lark? TIA Ranger Aiken, SC
I wish. They've been discontinued for awhile as far as I know. If you find a source, please let me know.
Yes, I thought they'd be discontinued. I found one while cleaning out my garage so I'll put it up for sale. Hopefully, somebody is lookin' for one. Thanks for your reply! Ranger Aiken, sC
This guy sells them relined. Not cheap but as good or better than new. He also relines them and aluminum front drums. Oh, he also arcs shoes for the drums. Way better than the Cardone ones that have issues with cracking. https://www.jgrelining.com/#!contact-us/coj3
Thanks! Gonna mic mine and see how much meat is left on it, and then put it up for sale on this site. It's good to know that I shouldn't throw it away even if it's at max. I have 3 big-car front 12" aluminum drums that are already cut to the max. I'm sure he could reline those if somebody needed one. I was gonna toss em but now I think I'll just try to sell em. Thanks again! Ranger Aiken, SC
If you wouldn't mind, let me know what you come up with for a measurement & price before listing it. Thx.
Will do. Will dry to mic it tomorrow. I don't have a mic but am on good terms w/ the local tire store and they let me use theirs. Best, Ranger Aiken, SC
Saw an '87 caprice in yard last week that had aluminum drums. Thought by that time they had gone back to cast iron. 2004R out and on ground behind car. Someone ripped it out thinking turbo 700 probably then left it. Too expensive they’re at $189 now, plus tax and environmental for a trans. No core, and you’re close to $250.
I've got so much - unsold now. Have pretty much stopped buying inventory. Am skimming through stuff now, and deciding on what to scrap out.
