I just ordered a lakewood blowproof bellhousing for my 70 GS. Is anyone else running one? Anything bad about them, other than the price?

I've got one , been in for years. no problems. I would personally never run a manual trans without a scattershield. :Smarty:

Where did you order it from and if you don't mind, how much did it run you?

    Rick,

I dont mind at all. I got mine from Summit. They run $340 where jegs runs $310, but they charge $10 to drop ship, and the guy was nasty, so I paid $10 more and went with summit. I called Lakewood direct and they werent the nicest bunch either, they wont sell to the public, they referred me to summit or jegs. All my local speed shops said the same thing. I have had a few friends run these with no problems, but they are on chevy's, and all of us buick guys know how spoiled they are.....

    Rick,

Did you have to deal with getting it aligned properly? That is the only thing that is keeping me from the blowproof housings.

    Andrew,

I didnt get it yet, but tomorrow, when it arrives I'll let you know. The car is at a shop now, since this is a little out of my league. However, much like yourself im sure, I hit the pavement pretty hard, and when you dive hard with a 4 speed, lots of things can go wrong, and I like to have some assurances that I dont wind up like larry flynt....

My car is pushing around 650 hp on the street, and at that range the weak link is the driveshaft ( I have snapped one or two) and if you dont have a rev limiter you can hit 9000 rpm's faster than you think. Ive heard lots of horror stories about flywheel particles flying through the floorboards, and dont care to take a chance.

I`m running one on my car for the past 4 years, the only problem i ran into was the block plate,i had to cut the center hole where the crank goes through bigger beacuse it would not fit through, and as for alignment i had no issues at all but i`ll tell you that sucker is heavy.

    Thanks

Well, I dropped it in today, and it works, the adjustable pivot ball on the lakewood was what I needed to sure my hard clutch pedal. It certainly is one big ass piece...
