Anyone know of good slip yoke?

My slip yoke that attaches to the driveshaft at the transmission end is pretty well chewed up. The guy that does my driveshafts and rear ends has a Neapco replacement but the thing is about an inch longer than the fairly short stock orginal. It also has a casting closer to the driveshaft end that I am afraid might bump the transmission. Anyone have a good part they have used? Thsi is for a stock Muncie 70 4 speed.

Mine was replaced years ago after it went oblong, beating up the rear seal and causing a hell of a vibration. I'm sure the replacement is a "chevy" using an "adapted" u-joint.

Brad, I would think all GM used the same slip yoke and U joint for this application.

Coincidentally, my yoke was chewed up too. The 4 speed cars use a T-350 yoke which are pretty plentiful

Jason, did you end up with a new one? My fear with the replacements is they are longer than stock.

John Csordas swapped it for me when I had the car up at his shop a few years ago. He installed a used original off an old Skylark driveshaft he had. Good used yokes should be a dime a dozen

Jason my 71 4 spd car had a large yoke like a th400

Thats interesting. The M-21 in my 70 takes the small one.

Now you got me thinking John. I just happen to of saved the yoke that came out of my 4 speed car. I just dug it out from the back of my toolbox. Definitely not a 400 style. I think it may also have some cosmetic differences from the T-350 style. Anyone have a pic of a T-350 yoke they can post?

Dave- Is this the damage on yours?

    All 1971-74 Muncie 4-speeds had the large 32 spline out put(like a turbo 400)...

    Hope this helps... Crash

Looks that way because the part number is different than a 69-70 in the book

Jason, That looks just like the damage to mine. What is the barrel length on yours?

Its 3.400". Thats measuring from the end to where the machining of the barrel ends.

My bad. Looking at the original Guide to Buick Gran Sports, I see info on swapping rear ends from 10 bolt to 12 bolt and the use of Neapco u-joint 3-3130 to make the swap using your Buick driveshaft. So I'm way off...

Crash, Yes that is what I need. I was hoping for a new one. If used it needs to be near perfect.

I found 4 that look like the picture for 27 spline Muncie...
I'll clean them up and post pictures later... Crash
