i'm wondering what my car would run in the 1/4, my mechanic(dad) won't let me cut it loose yet. I don't know much of the specifics but here's what i do know.

    750 holley double pumper
    stock intake
    rebuilt heads
70 Riv 455 bored 30over ( original stage 1 block is long gone)
    Hemi killer cam
    H.E.I.
    Open element air filter
    headers
    3 inch exhaust
    flowmaster 40 series muflers
    3,200 stall converter
    th400
12 bolt chevelle rear 3:55 gears, posi

I think the rear tires are 275/50/15 and the rear sits real low so it can squat and get traction. If anyone has a range or guesstimate of what i can do i'd like to hear from you. I'm sick of these LS1 cars talking smack on me.

    Bob,

Go to Kazaa and download Dyno Desktop, this will get you into the right direction.

That sounds like a low 13 second combo. The heads are a huge factor in making power with a Buick. Are they the Stage 1 heads? If so, you may dip into the twelves with that car. Have Fun:beer

brent, nice car. my dad wants to yank the white top and interior in favor of black, its nice to see how my car would look. low 13's and high 12's is what i was hoping for. Actually i was hoping slicks would get me into the 12's. I'm unsure about the heads. There were done by a local performance shop. the car is untouched since my dad bought it from my uncle 3 years ago. When this newest engine was dropped in it ripped the frame rail.

Speaking of yankin', I'd pull that carb if I were you. Not enough for that motor. You'll need minimum 800cfm. A closer guess may be 850.

Definatly pull that carb, I had to put the 750 back on while I rebuild my 850DP and you can tell there is a big difference. The 750 just plain sucks.:ball:

well i said i wasn't positive on all the mods. i'm not sure if its a 750 or 800. I need to ask my uncle again. the rest of the suff i'm pretty positive. I also found out last night that the engine isn't from a 70 riv, that was the old engine that was in there, i have to check with him to see where the engine in there now is from. I'm still learing so bear with me, mechanics aren't my area of expertice.

I have a couple better pics on my web page http://homepage.mac.com/brentholm/PhotoAlbum19.html The car looks a little better with new springs etc, and will look awesome under the hood with the new JW engine in there. I am going with some sweet TA perf valve covers and ceramic coated headers. It is killing me to be without the car for 6 weeks or so:Brow: Knowing what I will have when it returns is a pretty good consolation though:grin:

Cool that you have the 850DP... Its a nice carb. Want some advice tho... make sure it has the "Power valve blowout protection" thats the whole reason I am back to the QJ. I went through 3 PV's in twice as many weeks.:ball: My DP is an older carb so I have to order the DIY kit from summit. I couldn't stant having to replace those suckers that often:ball: :blast:

    Nice combo.

Lose the HEI. It won't do you any favors in the long run.

Have a points distributor converted to electonic by www.davessmallbodyheis.com and use an MSD if you can afford it.

    ?

far better than points. only problems are those related to the coil?
