No, read it again, I paid about $65 each for them.

Anyway, no pads, only the metal.

A speed alert instrument cluster has a second speedometer wand that is set by a small rod. You turn the the rod to position that wand on a speed number. When the larger speedometer wand contacts the one that you set, a buzzer goes off. So, it prevents you from inadvertent speeding. Still a very good idea, and an option on late-60's Buicks.
