Well the block, crank, girdle, pistons and bearings went to the machine shop today. After many questions, I felt confident with the shop I chose. I threw in a few trick questions to see how he felt about clearances and treating it like another BBC build. From other friends that swear by him, he is a stickler for correct clearances. He seemed to have a lot of attention to details and patience, which left me with a good impression. Real easy to talk to also. The first thing he said was that the best way to bore is with a torque plate but admitted that he didn't have one for 455's. He is a BHJ dealer, but if I could rent/borrow one from someone that would help. Does anybody have one for rent? I have a couple of weeks before he's ready to bore I suppose. He's going to call TA to get more info on the girdle install this week. Any leads are well appreciated!:TU:
