Anybody believe in Reincarnation?? (of a motor that is) I don't either ... But my motor is back from the dead. I fired it up after over a year of "fixing" it. Everything sounded good, and the water and oil temps came up to normal at an acceptable rate. We'll do some checking and re-checking and then go for a spin in a couple days. For the late arrivals here's a recap: August 2000 - started "tearing apart" the '72 GS December 2000 - Got motor back from the "Buick well-known" machine shop. (It takes a while to re-assemble a whole car with a family) April 2002 - first trip to the track, 2 passes, rod knock, tear it apart. August 2002 - Recieved crank core and oil bypass line from "Buick known" machine shop. This was their idea of helping to fix it. August 2002 - Decided to send the short block to TA. Best idea I ever had. (During this time we moved from an apartment to a house. I also moved my shop from an industrial, remote work shop to the garage attached to the house. Tight fit!) While at TA, I upgraded to a new TA front cover, ditched the Eagle rods and stroker crank (crank is junk anyways) and went with TA Sportsman rods and std stroke crank. June 2003 - Recieved shortblock from TA. NICE! Since I moved the car to my home garage, I figured I needed mufflers to keep the neighbors happy. Since the car is basically a GS Street Eliminator car, I went with a 3" X-pipe system. So, after re-installing everything I had to fab and install the exhaust system. And today it fired up. Now I have three kids, a house, and a GS that runs  . I'll probably post some "finished" photos (like Jim W. always does) when I get time. See y'all. Have fun.
Reincarnation? I hope not, because if there is I'm coming back as a toilet brush in my next life. It's a good day when you fire up a new motor. Have fun with it.
