Is there any stroke to be had with 6.635 rods by offset grinding the crank? If so how much. And would it be and odd ball piston size.

No stroking needed. Normally, you'd have to deck at least .020 to get the correct advertised compression ratio. Those rods would probably put you right near the zero deck mark maybe just a little clean up pass. I have Ross pistons that have the pins .040 LOWER than stock with the idea that the lower pin height will raise the piston to zero deck. Well, I figured this out AFTER I ordered the 6.635's. Those would have put my pistons out of the block, so I ordered a set of 6.535's which(with the lowered pin) should put me at a rod length of 6.575, so it SHOULD get me around .025 in the hole. Still better than .040 in the hole.

Terrance i ran that size rod in my motor i kept the stock stroke but you can go up to 3.950 and still keep the stock pin hight pistons but when i do it again, i am going to change the stroke to 3.940 this way the crank will have a new surface all the way around. this will make 469 ci, also if you deck the motor and your piston is out of the hole you can always knock off a little off the top of the pistons. you could give me a call at 5085270543 if you need more info. later john

I have Eagle 6.635 rods with Wiseco pistons and when I mocked it up they were at .002 in the hole, just enough to clean the deck surface for Cometic gaskets. I would rather have been where Reynold ended up at .025 in the hole and decked the block to keep it about .004 down.

What is your pin height? Mine is 2.02. I believe most pistons are 1.98 from what I've seen.
