This weekend I am going to make an attempt at installing a Hydraulic throw out bearing in my Skylark. if there is any interest, I will take alot of pictures and document the steps, then make a thread about it My car was an auto originally, so I'm starting from scratch.
    Heres what I have:
    TA BBB flywheel (read: Expensive)
    Centerforce I clutch
    Howe Bearing Summit PN- HRE-82870
    Wilwood master cylinder PN 1304
    AN lines
    A-body clutch pedals
Stock BOP bellhousing- believed to be from late 70s T/A
    65 M20

IF anyone wants a soem info, let me know ASAP, since I'll be working on it this weekend.

I think doing a swap like this would be a whole lot easier than tryig to locate a Z-bar setup, not to mention cheaper, and much more reliable.

any thoughts, tips, or suggestions? thanks Joe

    Yes

YES! How and where you mount the master cylinder, how and where you mount the slave, how the throwout bearing mounts to the transmission, what the rod to the master looks like, how it all ends up working, in other words lots of pics would be good!
    Thanks

Ok, Will do. But there is no slave cylinder in this setup. The throw out bearing is hydraulic, and expands out to disengage the clutch. its a relatively new setup. it comes stock on LS1 F-cars, and corvettes with the T56. It works really well, once adjusted properly. Check out this link for info.

My main goal for tomorow is to get the master mounted to the firewall, and hooked up to the pedal.

That is pretty much the same setup that I used on my skylark except I have a 350. I mount the master cylinder for the throwout bearing beneth and to the left of the brake master cylinder. The set up works very well

    Yes sir......

Please share the info and details.

Great idea. I rather run hydraulic then Z bar.
Considered just cutting the floor out of an Fbody and use its system.
As the slaves mounts to the floor. Just cut and weld type thing. But the F body uses two cylinders. One on the floor / fire wall & one on the bell housing. Not sure if just the one in the floor would be enough torun a
TObearing that has hydraulics inside it.

Joe, I think this would be an outstanding project to "sticky". Please get as detailed as you would like, many of us are interested. :TU:

Actually, the f-body master cylinder is too much, it'll blow the guts right out of the hyd. TO bearing. The slave cylinder on the firewall is actually the master too.

That sounds like an excellent idea Joe. I would as well be interested. Im not doing this but I think it would make an excellent topic and it would help us "new learners"(mechanics/automotive specialist wannabees  ) out a lot and could be useful in the future. Thanks :TU:

Ok guys, I'm glad this generated alot of intrest. Sorry to leave you hanging, but I have alot on my plate right now. This weekend I hope to have the Master cylinder mounted to te fire wall and the pedal assembly. I'll have something posted by sunday. It's supposed to be like 20 degrees all weekend, and I'm working in a very well ventilated garage (read: no door), so things might go slow.
