Is it just me or do the antennas in 68-72 buick skylarks blow? It might just be mine. Ohwell. Has anyone ever replaced there's? If so are there antenna with better reception? What about your thoughts on the power antenna and windshield's with built-in antennas? Thanks.

I have a built-in windshield antenna and it works fine on FM stations. AM stations it gets a lil quarky depending on where I am. That's with the original antenna cable. The only complaint I've ever had was while at LAX, signs posted everywhere, "tune to 560 AM ..." Would be nice if it worked whlie AT lax... shesh

Oh yea, make sure the windshield is kept clean, as it can hinder reception.

Thanks. Where did you get your windshield from? I don't really listen to AM only for news, yes i'm 17 and I listen to the news, go figure. Plus I got to thinking, get an antenna in my windshield and I don't need that stick poing up though my side panel. Cut a whole, weld a piece of sheet metal in it's place, smooth it out, get it painted with the rest of my car, and bang, a much smoother, finer, defind body. Thanks again.

When you call to have a new windshield installed, get oem glass and specify in-glass antenna. Cost me $125 when some #%#@ kid broke mine. The one thing you might need tho is the cowl/dash parts to use it. Pop the lower trim panel off yer windshield and see if theres a connector there. It's yer typical rca lookin plug and should be about dead center location wise.

Another plus too is nobody can bend, break or steal it. :)

i've never seen a 70-72 with a visible antenna? did they make them?

and my car gets better radio reception than a lot of new ones i've been in...might be just a good head unit, though.
