    Fred,

    Just to make you drool a little, here is some info Patrick had posted on his Mopar before :grin: :

    "The Challenger is 1 of 287 Hemi-Challengers made in 1970. Far fewer than Hemi-Cudas. It was ordered by a Dodge Salesman who worked at Vissings Dodge in Jeffersonville, Indiana. He raced NHRA Division III at Indianapolis Raceway Park and Bowling Green Raceway. It is FE5 Red, black interior and ordered Stripe and radio delete. 4.10 rear automatic car. 29,000 mile car. Spent most of its life in Texas and Florida. It is "One" of "Two" documented Hemi-Challengers that left the factory with a T/A hood. The other car no-longer exsists. This information I got Galen Govier. Also ordered with front and rear spoilers. Car has paperwork and letters from both the original owner and selling dealer detailing its race history. Raced against some Sox & Martin sponsored cars and a Glidden Mustang. Car has been in my family for over 20 years! Patrick"

    If you spend time on the "Moparts" web-site, you'll find out just how crazy prices are for some of these cars. In many cases, the purist has been priced out of the market. That's a shame. That doesn't mean only investors are buying these cars. Alot of these high dollar guys love these cars as much as anybody!!! But they can afford to pay really big $$$$$.No different than choice real estate or art. Thats their choice and position. Its certainly not my position.

    This gentlemen has contacted me about my Challenger. Kevin is a purist, and has been buyng these cars for his collection for decades. He's not the only one. www.corvettes-musclecars.com check out his collection. Notice the GSX in is collection

    Stage 1, GSX's are now getting the attention that was long over due. As far as I'm concerned, the best production muscle car GM built. I'm sure your in time you'll see the GS's with the Stage 1 option start to appreciate also. Patrick

    I have also heard of Stage1 GSXs/Convertibles purchased over the 100K mark from several 'reliable' resources.

    Stage1 Coupes (non-GSX) are 'touching' that mark as well, for the right #s car.

    None of these sales were public, as I only know of the transactions through the registry owners.

    Welp

    I will go you one better, Some of us may have some muscle Buicks even more rare than the stage one GSX cars but for our own reasons we may not admit to owning even the cars themselves. As I like to say:

    There is the list of cars I own to which I might publically admit;

    There is the list I give to my wife; and

    Then there is the list.

    Just over 11 and 1/2 hours left.... :Comp:

    The more I look over this listing, the more it doesn't seem like too bad a deal....while it is in pieces, at least most of, if not all the parts to put it back together are there, no?? :Do No:

    Well I was on it right till the end until Mark outbid me but neither of us met the reserve. Oh well, its not like I needed another project but I'm sure Rick could have used another transport contract!
