Hi, My name is Bill Mish, I live in Phoenix Az.
I don't know much about the Buick cars, but I have had a Buick V-8 in my Jeep now for about 10 years.
I started out with the 340 Buick, and was very impressed with what it had to offer.
Most of my experience to that point was with Ford powerplants, mostly Big Blocks, and I thought it would be great to have a Big block Buick in the Jeep, so I made that happen about a year and a half ago. Needless to say, I am COMPLETELY hooked on Buick motors!
I run my Jeep mostly on the Southwestern Rockcrawling trails, but occaisionally, I get to the Algodones Sand Dunes around Yuma Az and Blythe, Ca and to the Cinders by Flaggstaff Az.
This seems to be where the big block really shines.
There are other Jeeps and buggies out there who are way faster than I am. I hope to garner enough knowledge here to reduce that number signifigantly, and build a reliable high horsepower 455. In my Jeep's Dune running configuration, it weighs in at a hefty 4100 pounds. Allot of that is all the overbuilding I did in the frame and drivetrain, but I felt all that that was necessary to make it as reliable as possible for all types of 4 wheeling.

Thanks for the opportunity to learn from this forum.

    Howdy!

4100 lbs is about what a decked out GS weighs, so no problem!

    Hehehe!
Yeah, I'm pretty much done reducing weight and am now going to concentrate on performance mods.
This is going to be where things get fun.....

And in lane 2 we have a Jeep that has run a best 10.00 @ 130 mph.
