So I'm back working on my 455 conversion on my 86 regal. I look through all the parts I have and I realize that I have 2 sets of TA performance low profile frame pads and no sets of the actual 455 mounts that go on the block. :Dou:

Then I look closer at the 455 and see there are 4 holes where mounts can go..... Which holes do I use?

Also, where do I buy the 455 mounts that go on the block to bolt to the frame pads??? Can I use an ebay set like this???

Yep the stock motor mounts should work. I don't have the TA pads we made our own frame mounts. IIRC it's the most forward position ( IE holes 3 & 4 ) on the dr side and one step back on the pass side. I'd have to go home and look to be 100% sure though. ?? though, do you have your trans in?

Nope car is completely apart, it is a roller right now. I have the engine on a stand and the 2004r and drive shaft out. So I'm trying to figure out the mounts and then the trans mount and the pinion angle.

so the eBay mounts I posted a link to will work?

I just bought some off amazon. Worked fine. Do yourself a favor and at least have the motor and trans set up. The trans is a great guide for where to put the engine. Just get it close enough to being level and call it good. Not gonna get it perfect but I don't think any of them are from the factory.

I have an '80 Regal, and I used the TA mount setup. The picture you have for the motor mount looks identical to what TA sells. I used TA's frame pad as well. The motor sits a bit high, but it has worked fine. No problems so far. For the mount holes on the block I had to use 1 & 3. The more forward positions 2 & 4 are for the full sized cars (Centurion, Electra etc). The attached picture (drivers side) shows the mount relative to the frame. The 200 4R was bolted on to the block to get the placement, I removed it once the placement was set and I marked the frame.

I used the trans mount from a company which may be OOB right now, called Iceman Products. They used to advertise on MailbuRacing.com a few years back. Anyhow, with that trans mount, and using the TA 2" Stage 2 headers, the No.2 header pipe is very close to the rear lower a-arm mount on the passenger side , and I had clearance problems with the bell housing/trans tunnel. Again, that may have been caused by the frame pad/mounts having the engine a bit high or the motor being 1/4 in set back too far. I did not have the body on the frame when I mounted the engine to the frame. Found out certain items when mounting the body. Depending on your mounts, trans mount etc. there will be some differences on exactly where the motor will sit vs. where mine ended up.
