Last week I responded to an online ad from a guy who was selling a '72 GS 350 ram air cleaner, and went to purchase it. When I asked if he had anything else Buick he stated that he did have a weird Buick sitting in the trees. We went out and he showed me his '79 Lesabre Turbo Sport Coupe, ran two years ago, and complete. The price was right, and I couldn't let it lay there to die, so I brought it home today. It alway feels good to get another one in the stable. That's my five year old son Gavin by the car... he's already convinced that Buick's rule.
Great find, some people don't realize the value of these things! One sure fire way to know that your a buick nut, is if you past one that's too far gone to save, you stop and have a moment of silence!!!!ray: Best wishes on the resto.:TU:
these are neat cars, too bad the carbed turbo cars are such poor performers but I bet with a 84-85 hotair plant in it she'd scoot along rather snappy or take the big plunge and drop in a 86-87 intercooled setup. The cool thing is that you have the good shortblock with the really good crank
This is my first trip into Turbo territory, I've been sticking to the big blocks for the most part. I think I've come to the point in my Buick addiction, where almost any Buick gets a second look. I'm sure in eleven years my son Gavin will be the only one on the block with a turbo Lesabre. It's been a good Buick hunting month, my brother just found a '67 GS 400 Convertible with an original 3spd on the floor. After some looking we found it was one of nine produced!:TU: We're still trying to come together on a price:spank: .
