American Sunday 18th of april 2010, circuit Zandvoort The Netherlands.

We were racing the GoFast!Buick 72 GS"X" on this circuit straight away.
This is a none prepped track, and you were not allowed to do a stand still burnout.
I got to test the new Toyo Drag slicks and the work really well.
We finished with the 72 GS"X" in the 3th place with a 11.42@190KPH the 3th fastest time.
The only 2 cars that were faster was a 63 chassis car Nova 10.7xx ET (Super Gas car) and another Super Gas 66 impala 11.00 ET.

My wife drove our 93 Park Avenue to the 5th place in the bracket race and won a Big Cup with that, cause she send 2 Pro racers home, and by doing so she won the Public Award Cup.

The orange 4 speed Roadrunner is normally faster then it drove now it looks like the owner had shift problems. The second run I made with him we had both very sharp reaction times!

    Tnx Jim. :beer

The nice guys say: you run that fast at that track without No2 or a Blower, nicely done with just a NA motor!

The other guys.."its all quite on the Western front"

I always remember the nice guys...and leave the "bad" ones behind! :3gears:

    Yes was a great day!
I finally wasn't scared of the car anymore after the motor/trans/gears transplant..

In my mind I had driven this race 3 times over! In the days before this race.
So when I got at the track all my tremors were gone, and it all came together like I had driven this combo for many years now.
I even managed to shift it manually without any problems, something I couldn't do last year, when everything was happening a little to fast for me..
I'm used at it now, so its time to go out and show what we can do at the track now!

And the misses has taken note of my race experience so it seems,..she allready talking about a car for here to drive in.
She wanted to take the GS"X" for a spin at the track this coming summer.
But when she made a couple of runs beside me on the street, she declined and said give me a 12 or 13 second ET car to learn to drive with.
I'm not getting behind the wheel of this one, this Buick is going much to fast for me.
I as always, said that I agreed with here on all counts, and thought ...pffff....that went well...I think I may have found a buyer for the GS"X" when I want to do the transfer to a full chassis car. And the good thing is, it will be still in the family.

Hello Robert, loved watching your Buick run, awesome ET's as well. (and i have to admit, that i never would have believed that a Jeep Grand Cherokee would run an 11.9 unless i saw it in your video). Your Buick is a car to be proud of, all the time, planning, hard work, testing, tuning, and learning how to drive it. I admire you Robert, great job and looks like you've got more fun planned ahead. Thanks for sharing!

great job! it doesn't look like your track has much room to shut down after the end of the run? i'm assuming the numbers on the bottom were kilometers?

    Tnx for the nice words!

I was lucky that the Jeep was in the Big Block street class, cause he had the fastest time in that class and he was in fact the 3th fastest car there and I was in 4th if we would put all the times together.
He managed to do a one time run of..
Jeep Grand Cherokee Hennessy SRT 700
reaction ET 1/4mile speed in KPH
    0.279 11.394 178.22

No this circuits straightaway has just 100-150 meters and then the bends start. We take that bend with at least 60-70MPH.

And yes your correct the speed is in Kilometers.
