The water pump bolt that holds the alternator bracket in place- it shows the bolt in the assembly manual as 9419785.

My question is- is it just a regular 5/16-18 hex bolt? And since it's called out in the assembly manual, im assuming it wasn't on the engine when it was painted. So should it be phosphate?

And while I have your ear, the washer for the adjustment bolt is a 1371261. Is that silver zinc?

Not to answer all your questions, but anything that is shown as being installed at Final Assembly was put on after the block was painted.

The block was painted before it left the engine plant and was shipped as a sub-assembly to the final assembly plants, minus pulleys etc.

According to my research, that bolt is 5/16-18 x 1 5/16. From what I can tell, a regular hex bolt. I found one in my stash with a TR head marking. So that's what I'm going with. The bolt that was in there was a flange bolt which im 99% sure isn't right and was painted red.
