I have had the alky spray on the car for a few months and decided to see what it would really do so last night I went to test and tune at Gainesville Raceway here in G'ville Florida. I ran on 93 octane pump gas only and the spray. The air was heavy and wet so I made a couple of easy low 13 high 12 second passes at 104-105 mph on gas alone to get a feel for the boost and fuel pressure I could go to without detonation. The mustang camp just watched and yawned. They had some mid 12 second cobras so they thought they were safe. There was another t-type that was having problems and could not break into the 13's. Found out he was bone stock and just learning. Funny that there were probably 12+ mustangs and not one lined up against me even though I would take the longest line and hope. The ricers all wanted a shot at me though poor guys never had a prayer as I just kept getting faster every run as I turned up the boost and alky. On the alky now and another ricer pulls up. 12.4 @ 110mph and the integra is history. No detonation so up the boost and blow the tires away just off the line and run a 12.9 but 113mph and beat the nitrous altima by a few car lenths, still no detonation. Up the boost and get in line and the ricer heavy hitter of the evening lines up. A turbo neon running 12.9-13.2. I reeeeeeeeealy heat the drag radials and launch without blowing the tires away and run 12.18 @ 114.4mph with only 3 degrees of knock retard. POOR NEON! Never could find a stang all night. A couple more passes and I can't improve the time as I am running out of octane and my O2 volts are dropping a hundred yards before the traps. So I guess that is as fast as she will go on pump gas and alky, I can live with that. The 60 foot times were horrible as traction was a problem and I could not muster better than 1.9. Or race gas the fasted time slip I have is 11.30 @ 121 MPH with a 1.84 60'. I launch easy to save equipment but I need to practice and get down to 1.6-1.7 and maybe sneek into the 10's. All in all I had fun but really wanted to line up with a Cobra or Saleen. There was an A/C Cobra replica there runing very low 12's on his street tires but he only made a couple of passes and parked it.
