I would like a two or three inch tall chrome top air cleaner that fits an AFB without an adapter. I haven’t been able to find one. Or, an element for a 1965 Skylark GS pancake filter. Seems no one sells them anymore.

One like this? Go to OPGI, select Buick, Skylark, 1965, air cleaners. They have two that fit an Edelbrock/AFB (same carb) for $34.99. One has Edelbrock on the lid, one does not. I prefer the plain one. It includes the chrome lid, filter (3”), base, wing nut, and rod. It’s apparently back ordered and due in on April 21. If they don’t have it go to Corvette Central, look up 1966-1967 air cleaner. Includes the base, filter (4”), wing nut, and chrome steel top. $148 and you can use a 3” filter. Ecklers also has this one priced the same. Either should fit an AFB. Ecklers also has one for $80 that is similar but not quite the same that might/might not fit. One of these three places should be able to take care of you. If they can’t I might have another option for you. Good luck.

They have two that fit an Edelbrock/AFB (same carb) _ Joe - same except for the air cleaner opening. I learned this in 1989 when I bought an AFB for my 65 Riv. Could not use original air cleaner.
Kurt- Carmen sold me a filter for my pancake style without the lip. It lets air in at the top but otherwise works perfect. I think it is a 14" 3' tall, pretty standard stuff- his was a KN knockoff, less $.

Just checked the old element in my 65 GS air cleaner (with lip).
    It's 16" OD and 3-3/16" tall.
There are universal 16" x 3" air filter elements that may work. No sealing lip on top like the originals tho.
